Five workflows to automate before anything else

Most businesses automate the wrong thing first — something flashy instead of something costly. Work down this list in order. Each one has a clear cost you can measure.

1. The intake duplication

If a human retypes anything from a form/email into another system, that's candidate #1. Form → CRM/Sheet → confirmation email. One trigger, zero typing.

2. The status-update email

'Just checking in, your order is…' emails are robots' work. Trigger on status change, send the update, log it.

3. The weekly report

Any number you compile by hand every week — pipeline, revenue, hours — can be assembled and emailed automatically. You read it; you don't build it.

4. The invoice chase

Polite reminders at day 7, 14, 30 past due. Automated, consistent, and emotionally free — the machine doesn't feel awkward about asking to be paid.

5. The lead handoff

New lead → instant response → booking link → calendar invite → prep notes to you the morning of. This chain pays for all the others.

The order matters

Each of these is small, measurable, and low-risk. Get these five running and you've usually reclaimed 5–10 hours a week — which is exactly what the audit finds by mapping where your time actually goes.
